CHOCOLATE BROWNIES DELUXE
FOR THE BROWNIES:
1/2 cup plus 3 tbsp butter or margarine, softened, divided use
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 tsp vanilla, divided use
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup plus 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, divided use
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup chocolate flavored syrup
1 cup peanut butter flavored chips (optional)
FOR THE FUDGE BROWNIE FROSTING:
1 cup unsifted powdered sugar
1 tbsp milk
TO MAKE THE BROWNIES:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
Cream 1/2 cup butter, sugar, eggs and 1 tsp vanilla until light and fluffy. Add flour, 1/4 cup cocoa powder and baking soda alternately with chocolate syrup to creamed mixture: stir in peanut butter chips. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes or until done. Cool completely; frost with Fudge Brownie Frosting.
TO MAKE THE FUDGE BROWNIE FROSTING:
Cream the remaining 3 tbsp butter and the remaining 3 tbsp cocoa powder in a small mixer bowl; add the remaining 3/4 tsp vanilla and powdered sugar. Blend in milk; beat until mixture reaches spreading consistency. Additional milk may be needed. Makes about 1 cup frosting.
Makes 24 brownies
