Recipe(tried): Beer Bread (bread machine)

Breads - Bread Machine
Here's a good recipe that I've used a LOT with no problems yet. I basically just took my regular recipe for beer bread that originally makes 2 peasant-type loaves in the oven and divided the ingredients in half and tried it in the machine. Sucess! It makes a nice, white loaf (using just regular all-purpose flour), but it has a bit more of a pronounced "yeasty" flavor from the beer. Great for toast in the AM or hot out of the oven, slathered in butter.

BEER BREAD

1/4 c. lukewarm water
6 oz. beer, (1/2 a 12 oz. can), room temp.
1 1/2 T. oil
1/8 c. sugar
3/4 t. salt
2 3/4 c. flour
1 pkg. dry active yeast (2 1/4 t.)

Add ingredients to machine according to directions (mine says wet wet first, then dry, then yeast, so I do it in order written). I use the dark crust setting (it doesn't come out dark for me, but just right) and Basic Bread setting for a 1 1/2 lb. loaf.
