Recipe: Better Butterscotch Brownies

BETTER BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES

1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 cup margarine or butter, melted
2 tbsp water
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup butterscotch chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 9-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.

In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt; mix well. Add margarine, water, vanilla and eggs; blend well. Spoon and spread batter evenly into sprayed pan. Sprinkle with chips.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 45 minutes or until completely cool before cutting into bars.

Makes 20 bars
