Recipe: BLT Appetizer

Appetizers and Snacks
BLT APPETIZER

1 pound lean bacon
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
For serving:
1 head iceberg lettuce
2 or 3 large ripe tomatoes
bagel chips or your favorite crackers (for dipping)

Cook bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels and crumble.

In a small bowl with a snap-on lid, combine mayonnaise, sour cream and half of the bacon. Refrigerate until serving time.

To serve:
Shred lettuce into a large salad bowl, filling it 3 inches deep. (Save leftover lettuce for another use.) Spread the chilled mayonnaise over the lettuce.

Chop 2 or 3 large ripe tomatoes to cover the dressing. Sprinkle the remaining bacon on top.

Serve at once with bagel chips or your favorite crackers for dipping.
