Recipe(tried): Boboli Peas and Carrots Pizza - Thanks for all the extra ideas!
Pizza/FocacciaADVERTISEMENT
I loved all your ideas, especially using arugula, feta, the fresh tomato "purist" one and the BBQ one. And the Alfredo sauce one, I have got to try that! Yes, sugar snap peas are wonderful on pizza!
Here is another veggie I've used - carrots! Believe it or not a "peas and carrots" pizza is a beautiful thing. Peel a carrot or two and slice thinly on the bias (no more than 1/4" thick). Arrange carrot slices on top of sauce and sprinkle frozen peas around. Top with cheese and herbs of your choice and bake. The carrots come out crisp/tender and sweet.
Here is one I'm thinking of trying for the hot weather: a salad Boboli. I thought I'd start by sprinkling the shell with a little mozzarella or Cheddar and just warming the shell, then taking it out and topping with salad greens and a dash of olive oil (or maybe a sprinkle of Olive Oil Italian dressing), then returning to oven for just a minute. I'll give it a try and if it's worth trying, I'll post the recipe.
