Recipe: Bread Machine Pizza Dough with Beer
Pizza/FocacciaBREAD MACHINE PIZZA DOUGH WITH BEER
1 cup beer
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour
1 package dry yeast (2 to 3 teaspoons)
Place ingredients in order listed in bread machine. Select "dough" setting.
FOR A THIN-CRUST PIZZA:
With lightly floured hands, shape dough into a ball. Divide in half. Press each half of dough into a greased 12-inch pizza pan, forming a 1-inch edge.
FOR A THICK-CRUST PIZZA:
With lightly floured hands, press dough into a lightly greased 12-inch pizza pan, or jelly roll pan (15 1/2 by 10 by 1/2 inch), forming a high edge.
FOR BOTH VARIATIONS:
Brush crust(s) with vegetable oil. Cover, and let stand 15 minutes.
Spoon tomato sauce or pizza sauce over dough, top with cheese and desired toppings.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 400 degrees F, or until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
