Recipe: Breakfast No-Bake Granola Bars (using oats and Rice Krispies)

BREAKFAST NO-BAKE GRANOLA BARS

2 1/2 cups toasted rice cereal
2 cups old-fashioned oats, uncooked
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup or honey (see note)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine the cereal, oats and raisins in a large bowl. Set aside.

In a small saucepan, mix together the brown sugar and corn syrup over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Once it begins to boil, remove from heat.

Add peanut butter and vanilla to the sugar mixture and stir untilsmooth. Pour the peanut butter mixture over the cereal, oatmeal and raisins and mix well.

Press into a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. When cool, cut into 18 squares.

Note:
Do not feed honey to infants/children under the age of 1.
