BROWNIE-WALNUT PIE
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 (9-inch) unbaked refrigerated pie shell
FOR SERVING (OPTIONAL):
Vanilla or coffee ice cream
Caramel ice cream topping
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
In small, heavy saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring frequently. Cool 20 minutes.
In large bowl, combine eggs, sugar, flour and vanilla. Stir in chocolate mixture and nuts. Pour into pastry shell.
Bake 50-55 minutes, until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 1 hour on wire rack.
Serve warm with ice cream and caramel topping, if desired.
Makes 12 servings
