Yes, you can add crushed cookies (chocolate chip, oreo or others) to a cake recipe...You can also add frozen or canned (drained) fruit, coconut or candy such as M&M's, broken up pieces of candy bars or toffee chips...just about anything can be added to a standard cake mix....I recommend only adding about 1 cup of anything though and test it before making it for any kind of function or gathering.
