Recipe: Candy Coated Filberts (Hazelnut)

Desserts - Candy, Chocolate
This is from my not-yet-tried recipe collection, so I don't really know if it is the kind of candy you're looking for. It just looks to me as if it might be.

CANDY COATED NUTS

(Traditional Christmas treat of the Amana Colonies in Iowa)
1 c. sugar
5 tbsp. water
1 qt. shelled hazelnuts (filberts)

Mix sugar and water and bring to a slow boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add nuts. Stir until nuts are well coated. Put nuts on plate or waxed paper to dry and cool. Separate and store in a tightly closed container.
