Anybody familar with this dish? Try it if you have a sweet tooth. My husband and his mother love it very much (I finally figured out where he got his sweet tooth from).
Caramel Custard (serves 3-4)
100 g sugar
1.Put the sugar in a saucepan and cook until brown. Then pour into a greased mould.
3 eggs
6 dessertspoon sugar
vanilla essence
300 ml milk
a sprinkle of ground cinnamon/allspice/nutmeg
1. Preheat oven at 160 degrees C.
2. Beat eggs and sugar lightly and then add in slightly warm milk. Strain the mixture to get rid of lumps of egg.
3. Pour into the greased mould and sprinkle with a little cinnamon on top.
4. Stand the mould in a baking dish of warm water and bake in a slow oven till the custard is set (about 45 min to an hour)
5. Chill it first to set it firmer. Run a knife round the custard and tip it out on a dish.
Enjoy.
