I found it in Spanish at the Internet. This is my translation.
Cheese Sponge Cake (Ponque de Queso)
Source: Mrs. Elizabeth Sellas, MundoRecetas.com
2 cups flour already prepared (with salt & baking powder already integrated into the flour)
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup (2 sticks)butter (2 barras de mantequilla)
8 ounces cream cheese
6 eggs
Butter and lightly flour your cake pan. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Cream the butter and cheese. When well mixed, add the sugar and beat until it changes to a light yellow color.
Begin adding gradually the flour, alternating with the eggs (whole eggs), until you have added all the flour. Pour the batter into the already prepared cake pan.
Bake for 1 hour at 350 F or bake until a straw or toothpick comes out dry when inserted in the center of the cake. Cool in the pan, then turn the cake out in a rack.
Now you will be ready to frost it, add filling of ham, genoise or whatever decorations you are planning to use.
By the way, my family is from Guayanilla, a small town near Ponce & Pe uelas.
Good luck with your recipe,
Gladys/PR
