Recipe: Cheeseburger Casserole (using refrigerated biscuit dough)

CHEESEBURGER CASSEROLE

1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
4 slices process American cheese
1 (6 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring until it crumbles; drain. Return beef to skillet. Stir in onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper and cook 1 minute.

Add tomato sauce; reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.

Spoon into an 8-inch square baking dish; top with cheese.

Flatten biscuits into 3 1/2-inch circles, and place over cheese.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until biscuits are golden.
