Recipe(tried): Chipped Beef on Toast
Misc.Chipped Beef and Toast:
4 Tbsp. Butter
Few Tbsp of flour (enough to get the starter for gravy)
Melt butter in large frying pan. Add flour and stir it in really good. When bubbly, add milk slowly until it gets to the desired amount you will need. Stir and continue to let simmer just a bit. Meanwhile, have 2 pkg. of Carl Buddig or the store brand thin sliced beef lunch meat opened and ready to cut. I take the meat out of the package and cut it all at one time. I cut it into tiny, bite size squares. Add this to the gravy and allow to simmer. Gravy should thicken really well on its own. If you have to add thickener, do it VERY LITTLE at a time, but mix IN A CUP a Tbsp or so of cornstarch with a little water to make a paste. Add this and it will surely thicken up. Serve the gravy over buttered toast.
Waffles and Pancakes are another "Quick Fix" that I often fall back on. Sausage Gravy and Biscuits. French Toast. Hotdog Casserole ( I think I have posted it on TKL before, but if you can't find it, let me know and I will post it again). Spaghetti. All of these are what I fix when I wait until the last minute to plan dinner.
If all else fails, call Dominoes or Pizza Hut!!(haha)
