Recipe: Chocolate-Peanut Butter Clusters
Misc. Chocolate-Peanut Butter Clusters
Newsgroups: alt.cooking-chat/Ponce de Leon
This quick dessert will tempt the taste buds of all the chocolate and peanut butter lovers out there! They are always quick to go when I bring them to office parties and such!
1 (12 oz.) bag of semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
3-4 cups Wheaties or corn flakes
Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter in microwave, approx. 3 minutes (note microwave times vary). Keep stirring and heating up until the peanut butter and chocolate are of a consistent thickness with no lumps (unless of course you have chunky peanut butter). Stir in the corn flakes until completely covered with the chocolate/peanut butter mixture.
Spoon onto wax paper-lined cookie sheets with a spoon as you would with cookie dough. These can be pretty rich so you probably don't want to make them too large.
Refrigerate for approx. 15 minutes or until firmly set. Serve for dessert and ENJOY! Keep unserved portions refrigerated.
Optional additions: butterscotch chips, peanuts, cheerios
Also, you can substitute chow-mein noodles for the cornflakes
