This family favorite comes from Better Homes and Gardens "Chocolate" Cookbook. It has been on the menu for every occasion for many years! I always have to make an extra one for my daughter to take home.(That means that I usually make 3 for every special occasion.) Enjoy! Judy
CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE
3 eggs
1 cup white or light corn syrup
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1 unbaked deep dish pie shell
In a medium size mixing bowl, beat the eggs with a FORK. Stir in corn syrup, sugar and melted butter and mix well.
Stir in the chopped pecans and milk-chocolate chips.
Place pie shell on a rimmed cookie sheet and pour in the filling, making sure to evenly distribute the chips and pecans. Cover edge of pie with foil.
Very carefully put cookie sheet in a preheated 350 degree F oven. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake about 25 minutes more or until a knife inserted near center comes out clean. Let pie cool thoroughly on a wire rack before serving. Cover and chill to store.
