COPYCAT WONDER BREAD FOR BREAD MACHINE
This makes a delicious, buttery white bread that is great for sandwiches, toast or just plain with butter.
This has the lightness and texture of Wonder Bread but with a nice buttery flavor. It makes a tall, fluffy loaf that will almost reach the bread machine window. It has a fine crumb, almost like cake. It does all of this using all-purpose flour. You don't need to use bread flour in this recipe.
2/3 to 3/4 cup lukewarm water
1 large egg
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons table salt
5 tablespoons Butter Flavor Crisco
1/2 cup plain nontfat yogurt
3 1/4 cups all-purpose Flour
2 1/2 teaspoons (or 1 packet) bread machine or instant yeast
Add ingredients to bread machine in order listed or
according to your bread machine mfg's directions.
Settings: White Bread, 1 1/2 lb loaf, Medium Crust.
Press Start.
After a few minutes of mixing, add flour or water, a tablespoon at a time, if needed, to make a smooth, non-sticky, non-crumbly, ball of dough.
If you want to bake this bread outside the bread machine, bake in a loaf pan at 400-F for 45 to 60 minutes, until the interior of the loaf reaches 200-F.
Makes One, 1 1/2 lb loaf.
