Recipe: Cornmeal Waffles

Cornmeal Waffles
Yield: 4 Servings
Rec.foods.recipes/Kim/1997

1 1/2 cups Corn-meal
1/2 cup White flour
3 tsp Baking powder
3/4 cup Melted shortening
1 Egg, well beaten
1 cup Milk
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Sugar

Combine egg, shortening, milk, and corn-meal. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add to first mixture. Beat until smooth. Bake in hot waffle iron. 4 servings
