Recipe(tried): Cucumbers and Onions

This is an old family recipe which my grandmother called Calbri Mortis. As children we never could pronounce that so we simply called it Rigor Mortis. Since she didn't have it written down, I've had to recreate it. Hope you like it.

3 cucumbers, peeled and sliced thin
1 or 2 small onions, sliced thin
2 tbsp. salt
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. sugar

Place cucumber and onion slices in 3 quart covered dish. Fill with water to cover the slices. Add 2 tbsp salt. Stir until dissolved. Let set overnight.

Next morning, drain off salt water. Fill partly with water. Add vinegar and sugar. Add additional vinegar or sugar to taste.
