For The Peach Cobbler I use the following and it turns out great.
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1 cup self rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
Canned or fresh peaches
Melt butter in oblong or square pan at 350 degrees F.
Mix together flour, sugar and milk. Pour mixture on top of melted butter and then place peaches on top.
Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
