Recipe(tried): Four From One Cookies (chocolate chip, caramel bars, nut cookies, peanut butter tarts) - Here's a couple Lila, don't think they are the exact recipe, but a good start...
Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, BarsFOUR-FROM-ONE COOKIES
1 cup margarine, very soft or melted
2 tablespoons water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, loosely packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla or 10 drops of almond extract
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 tsp. teaspoon salt
Make the basic dough, starting at the top of the list and mixing as you add each ingredient. Use an extra 1/2 cup of flour if the dough seems too soft.
Divide the dough into 4 bowls and use the following instructions to make four kinds of cookies.
Bowl #1: CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Add 1/4 cup chopped nuts and 1/4 cup chocolate chips to the dough. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet (2 inches apart).
Bake in 375 degree F oven 8-10 minutes. Cool on racks.
Bowl #2: CARAMEL BARS
In an 8x8-inch pan, press down half of the dough to cover the bottom of the pan. Drizzle 8 oz. melted caramel over the dough. Pull apart little bits of the remaining dough and cover the caramel completely.
Bake in 375 degree F oven until the dough looks cooked through. Check after 20 minutes. If you poke it with a toothpick, you should get caramel, not wet dough!
Sprinkle 1 to 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips over the hot bars and return to the oven for 5 minutes. Spread melted chips with a spatula. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
Bowl #3: NUT COOKIES
Form 1-inch balls of dough and place on a baking sheet (2 inches apart). Gently press a walnut half or almond on top of each ball.
Bake in 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Cool on racks.
Bowl #4: PEANUT BUTTER TARTS
Press pieces of dough into miniature muffin tins, forming a thin crust. Place 1 teaspoon of peanut butter in each tart and 3 chocolate chips on top.
Bake in 375 degree F oven for 8-10 minutes or until the dough looks dry. Cool a little before taking the tarts out of the tin.
