Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
FROSTED OATMEAL BARS

4 cups old fashioned oats, uncooked
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup light Karo syrup
1 (6 oz) package chocolate chips
3/4 cup peanut butter

Mix the first four ingredients together. Pour into two glass pie dishes; pat mixture down evenly. Microwave each dish separately for 3 1/2 minutes on high power. Make sure entire surface is bubbly hot. Cool.

Mix 6 ounces chocolate chips with 3/4 cup peanut butter in small glass bowl. Microwave on high power for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir mixture thoroughly and spread on cookie base in pie dishes.

Chill until chocolate mixture is thoroughly set. Keep in refrigerator. They will be somewhat difficult to cut while cold; may want to remove them from refrigerator for awhile prior to serving.
