ICED ESPRESSO GRANITA
3/4 cup Domino Granulated or Superfine Sugar
3 cups water, divided use
2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
1 tablespoon chocolate-flavored syrup
1/2 cup milk
Heat sugar and 1 cup of water in small saucepan until sugar dissolves.
Add espresso powder and chocolate syrup. Blend well. Stir in remaining water and milk. Pour into 13x9-inch baking pan.
Freeze 3 to 5 hours or until firm, stirring and breaking up large ice crystals with fork 3 or 4 times.
Just before serving, scrape fork through mixture to flake ice into crystals. Spoon into chilled dessert bowls or sherbert glasses.
Makes 8 (1-cup) servings
