Note to Polly,AL
please see the notation following the recipe; I am afraid that adding pineapple to the recipe would also make the dressing too watery. Please let us know if you try it.
GRAPE SALAD/DESSERT
1 lb. red seedless grapes*
1 lb. green seedless grapes*
FOR THE DRESSING:
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
FOR THE TOPPING:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped honey roasted peanuts
Wash and DRY grapes, set aside.
Mix the ingredients for the dressing with a whisk. Fold in grapes; spread in dish.
Mix together brown sugar and honey roasted peanuts. Sprinkle over top of salad just before serving.
Enjoy !! :)
*DEFINITELY grapes should always be cut in half if serving to children, but...
last year at Christmas we made this salad and cut the grapes in half because we had kids being served; it did NOT work. Cutting the grapes in half lets them exude too much juice and the salad dressing became very watery and separated. I would suggest that either this is not a salad to be served when little ones are eating or perhaps cutting their portion of grapes in half when serving them.
