I make these every, year,and give to my grandchildren.
GREEN TOMATO RELISH
4 quarts unpeeled, chopped green tomatoes
1 quart chopped onions
1/2 cup finely chopped hot peppers
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup pickling salt
4 cups white vinegar
Combine all ingredients in a dutch oven and bring to a boil for 10 to 15 minutes (until tomatoes are medium soft).
Pour boiling relish into hot sterilized pint jars; leave 1/2 inch headspace. Adjust lids and process 10 minutes in a boiling water bath. Remove from the boiling bath, tighten lids completely and let cool to room temperature.
Yields 11 pints.
