Recipe: Reduced Sodium Sliced Dill Pickles (repost) (re: salt in pickles)

Preserving - Pickles, Relishes
Salt is only needed if you are fermenting. It is for flavor only in quick pack pickles. I am not sure if you will like the sugar in these, but this is the safe recipe I have. Are you using plain canning salt ?? You need to use canning and pickling salt in all your canning.

I use the Heinz dill pickle recipe (click here). You can do a search for: dill pickles "Linda Lou" in the search box above the posts and find my posts on dill pickles. I don't find them too salty.
