Recipe: Pigs in Blankets (Bisquick recipe, 1970's)

PIGS IN BLANKETS



2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup cold water
12 frankfurters
1 (16 oz) can sauerkraut, well drained, divided use
Catsup (for serving)

Heat oven to 450 degrees F.

Stir (dry) baking mix and 1/2 cup cold water to a soft dough. Gently smooth dough into a ball on floured cloth-covered board. Knead 5 times.

Roll dough into a circle 1/8-inch thick. Cut circle into 12 equal wedges.

Spread each wedge with 1 tablespoon sauerkraut. Place a frankfurter on each wedge; roll up, beginning at wide end. Seal tightly by pinching tip into roll.

Bake on ungreased baking sheet 15 minutes.

Heat remaining sauerkraut; serve frankfurters with catsup and hot sauerkraut.

Makes 1 dozen
