Recipe: Hamburger Spins (1940)

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
HAMBURGER SPINS

1 ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup chopped celery
2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup water
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
biscuit dough
1/2 cup milk
1 can (10 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup

Cook first 4 ingredients slightly. Drain.

Sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper; mix well. Add water. Cook until thick, stirring occasionally. Cool.

Spread on prepared rectangle of biscuit dough. Roll; seal. Cut 1-inch slices.

Bake in hot oven 425 degrees F about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Meanwhile, stir milk into mushroom soup. Heat. Serve over slices.

Servings: 6
