Recipe: Herb and Sea Salt Seasoning (make ahead)

"Garden fresh herbs preserved in sea salt provide an enticing seasoning for grilling vegetables or meat.
Take the freshness of summer and bottle it for the winter. This versatile seasoning can be made in multiples and saved for future use or given as a thoughtful hostess gift."
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil, rosemary, tarragon or thyme (prepared as below)*
1/2 cup coarse sea salt
2 (8 ounce) jelly jars with 2 piece lids
To prepare herbs, rinse lightly with cool water; shake to remove water. Remove leaves from stems; spread on paper towels to air dry until all moisture has evaporated.
In a small bowl, combine the dried herbs and salt. Mix well; place 1/2 cup mixture into each jar and cap tightly. Shake occasionally to distribute herbs.
Can use in 48 hours or store in a cool dark location up to 6 months.
*A blend of two or more favorite herbs may be used.
Makes 2 jars
