MICHIGAN PUDDING CHIP COOKIES
Florine Radee, who submitted this recipe for her group's Sharing Our Best cookbook, said this recipe had been in her family so long that no one remembers where it came from. "Our family is from Michigan, and we've just always made these soft and chewy Pudding Chip Cookies, and everyone loves them." Florine said. "I guess that makes them a real Michigan cookie."
1 cup margarine
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 (4 serving size) package vanilla instant pudding mix
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 (12 ounces) package chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Mix margarine, sugars, (dry) pudding mix and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Beat in eggs.
Combine flour and baking soda and add to sugar mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet about 2-inches apart.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes.
