HOCUS POCUS ROLLS
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3/4 cup milk, lukewarm
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 cups flour, divided use
24 large marshmallows
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
FOR THE CINNAMON MIXTURE:
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Add milk, 1/4 cup sugar, shortening, egg, salt and half of the flour; mix until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to handle dough easily. Put into bowl and let rise in warm place until doubled in size.
Divide dough in half. Roll out to about 1/4-inch thick. Cut 12 circles (3 1/2-inches in diameter) from each half.
Dip marshmallows in melted butter and roll in sugar and cinnamon mixture. Wrap a dough circle around each marshmallow, pinched side down. Let raise until light.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 minutes.
When done, glaze with a mixture of confectioners sugar and cream. Serve warm.
