Recipe: Honey Granola Bars

HONEY GRANOLA BARS

1 cup granola
1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats, uncooked
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1/2 cup raisins or semisweet chocolate pieces
1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 slightly beaten egg
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla

In a large bowl combine granola, oats, flour, coconut, almonds, raisins or chocolate pieces, wheat germ, and brown sugar.

In a small bowl combine the egg, honey, butter or margarine, and vanilla; add to the dry mixture, stirring till all is moistened. Spread evenly in a greased 12x7 1/2x2-inch baking pan.

Bake in a 325 degrees F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or till light brown on edges. Cool completely in pan.

To serve, cut into squares or bars.
