Janis, yours is much easier, but this is how my Mom made them, and how I make them for my son.
Hot Dog Pennies
2 hotdogs, sliced thin
1 cup pinto beans, cooked and drained
1/4 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp vinegar
Mix all ingredients in a pot and cook over medium heat 15 minutes.
Serve with grilled cheese and a glass of milk!
