HOT POTATO SALAD WITH BACON

6 medium potatoes
2 hard-cooked eggs
4 slices bacon, diced
1/4 cup minced onion
1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
Boil potatoes, with skin on. Drain, peel and slice while hot. Add hard-cooked eggs.
Fry bacon with onion until golden brown; strain. Add bacon and onion to the potato mixture.
Add bacon fat slowly to vinegar, sugar, celery seed, dry mustard and salt. Pour over potato mixture. Mix carefully and heat in double boiler one-half hour. Serve hot.
Makes 6 servings
