Hi Tina :-) This recipe is from The Junior League of Scranton, Pennsylvania and The Eastern Junior League Cookbook. It does not have ketchup as an ingredient.
Hot Spinach Salad
Yield: 2 to 4 servings
1 lb. fresh spinach
4 large fresh mushrooms
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
4 to 5 slices bacon
4 Tbl. brandy
Salt and pepper
Clean spinach, removing stems, and place leaves in a salad bowl. Slice mushrooms finely and add to spinach. Add sugar and vinegar and toss well. Fry bacon until crisp and crumble. Removing pan from stove, add brandy to bacon in the skillet, flame, and pour over salad. Season to taste, toss well and serve.
