Recipe: Hunt's 5-minute Tomato Aspic (1950's)

Salads - Fruit, Gelatin
HUNT'S 5-MINUTE TOMATO ASPIC

1 (3.4 oz) package lemon or orange Jell-O
1 1/4 cups hot water
1 (8 oz) can Hunt's Tomato Sauce
1 1/2 Tablespoons vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
crisp greens for serving
mayonnaise for garnish

Dissolve Jell-O in hot water. Add Hunt's Tomato Sauce and other ingredients. Stir together. Pour into individual gelatin molds.
Chill until firm.

Place on crisp greens with a teaspoon of mayonnaise on top.

VARIATION:
For extra spiciness, add any of the following before chilling: onion juice, seasoning or celery salt, cayenne, Worcestershire sauce, pepper sauce or horse-radish.

Serves 4 to 6.
