Recipe: Italian Filled Bread for dearest Judy.

Breads - Stuffed Breads
This version is similar to Ms. Huyke's one. If I might add, you can use a spicy drained (dry) Picadillo to fill the loaf or some Ropa Vieja (shredded Cuban beef stew). I will continue looking because I think that is a French or Italian recipe for a fancy appetizer.

ITALIAN FILLED BREAD

2 loaves frozen bread dough, thawed
1/4 lb. sliced pepperoni, cut in strips
1/4 lb. sliced ham, cut in strips
1/4 lb. sliced Mozzarella cheese
1 green pepper
1 med. onion
1 lg. can sliced mushrooms (drained)

Coarsely chop onion and green pepper; saute with mushrooms.

Spread bread dough into rectangle the size of a cookie sheet. Arrange meat, cheese, and vegetables on one side of dough rectangle.

Fold other half over; seal and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
