Recipe(tried): Italian Tadales and Icing

Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
Rosemary

I have a recipe for Italian Tadales from a neighbor. This recipe does not have cracked pepper. You can form balls from dough or twist around to form a bow.

italian tadales and icing

6 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup oil
5 cups flour
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon anise

Beat eggs, sugar, and oil together. Add other ingredients. Dough is very sticky. Chill for approx. 1 hour.

Bake on greased and floured cookie sheet in 400 Degree oven for approx. 10-15 minutes or until light brown.

The following is the icing for Tadales. After cookie is iced, I add Nonpareils.

1 lb. confectioner's sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
milk to desired consistency
