Recipe(tried): Jar Gifts Using Hot Cocoa Mix - Tip

Mixes and Food Gifts
I tried the hot cocoa mix, and I found that the STORE BRAND of dry milk works, but you MUST mix it with a blender to get the mix to be smooth. If not, it will look like the beans from the bean bag chairs-if anyone remembers what those little beads looked like. I made some with store brand, and had to mix it with a blender, half a batch at a time, and some with the CARNATION brand. The Carnation brand is already a superfine powder, and it worked splendidly. All I had to do was mix it in a bowl.

I put the mix in little square jars, and tied satin ribbons around the mouth of the jar, under the lid. I used Green and Silver, Blue and Silver, Garnet and Gold, and Yellow and Black. one set for each of the Hogwarts Houses, from the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. My friends and I all play a HP role play game, and I thought it would be cute to decorate their holiday gift with ribbons representing the house they were sorted in to at the start of our game. They really loved it. I attached the card with instructions to the ribbons, then tied the bow, to give it a finished look.
