Recipe(tried): Jello Pear Preserves

Preserving - Jams, Jellies
This is not a Jelly recipe; however, it is a fantastic preserve recipe made with pears and jello.

I use half ground pears and half sugar
Jello can be any flavor you like.
I use a large (6 oz) box of Jello if I am making several jars or adjust to your taste.

Grind pears. Add sugar and cook on medium heat until they start thickening. Add (dry) jello and cook until it is the desired consistency you would like your preserves to be. Remember, your preserves most likely will thicken a little more as it cools down.

Once you get this down, you can add all kinds of other fruits, nuts, etc. to your preserves, jello and pears. I have added pineapple and coconut. Yummy! It makes a great marmalade also.

Please use sterlized jars & lids. Cool, cover and store in the refrigerator. good luck
