Recipe: Joy of Cooking Lemonade for Marlena, Fla

LEMONADE

FOR 1 SERVING:
1 cup water
3 to 4 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
ice (to serve)

Boil for 2 minutes, the 1 cup water, sugar, and salt; chill syrup.

Add lemon juice. Serve over ice.

Other fruit juices can be combined with the lemonade.

FOR 100 SERVINGS:
4 cups water
8 cups sugar
7 1/2 cups lemon juice
4 gallons water
2 cans (27-29 oz each) crushed pineapple or 6 to 8 cans (6 oz each) frozen orange juice concentrate
ice (to serve)

Boil for 10 minutes, the 4 cups water and sugar; chill syrup.

Add lemon juice and crushed pineapple or orange juice concentrate. Serve over ice.
