Recipe: Kris Kringle Cookies (using cream of tartar) for Jill

KRIS KRINGLE COOKIES

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, softened
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. cream tartar
1 tsp. salt

Cream sugar and butter. Stir in eggs, baking soda-milk mixture, and vanilla.

Combine flour, cream of tartar, and salt and stir into creamed mixture. Mix well. Chill dough.

Roll out approximately 1/4-inch thick. Cut out cookies.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 8-15 minutes.

Frost cooled cookies and decorate.
