Recipe(tried): Linda B. re Funny Story

Misc.

Hi Linda, Thank you for sharing a great story. Who said Christians are "dull"? I needed a laugh this morning. Years ago my parents had a beautiful mural painted on their kitchen wall. It was always a great conversation piece. I am sure you all will have a great time. Here is a great make ahead recipe from my Aunt. When I use to eat meat, this was one of my favorites.

1-2-3 Appetizers by Aunt Rose La Gala
1 pkg. hot bulk sausage (Jimmy Dean)
1 pkg. mild regular sausage
2 cups finely grated sharp cheddar cheese
3 cups Bisquick Mix
Combine ingredients and shape into balls the size of walnuts.
Bake on cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
Makes about 5 dozen.
Balls may be frozen before or after baking. If frozen, defrost before baking.
Defrost throughly if already baked, heat and serve hot.

BAKED BROCCOLI by Aunt Mary Ordini

4 Pkgs. frozen chopped Brocolli (cooked, drained)
6 Tbs. Butter 6 Tbs Flour 2 cups milk 1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
2 Tbs. Lemon Juice Italian Seasoned Bread Crumb, additional butter

Cook butter, flour, milk until thick (white sauce texture) Stir in lemon juice and grated cheese. Mix all in with Brocolli.Mix well.

Butter bottom and sides of baking dish. Put mixture in baking dish. In microwave or on top of stove brown bread crumb with butter. Put toasted bread crumb on top of brocolli. Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serves. 6-8
This is a family favorite!

You can put this together the day before and bake before serving. You can also cook ahead of time and freeze. Defrost and heat before serving.

MASHED POTATO CASSEROLE
5 lbs. Russet potatoes peel, cube and cook. Put cooked potatoes thru food mill
ADD to Potatoes: 1 1/2 sticks of butter
1 8oz. pkg. Cream Cheese
1 tsp. garlic salt
salt and pepper to taste
Heat 3/4 cup of Half and Half (heating half of amount at a time)
Stir in with potatoes and put in a shallow baking dish.
Add additional, dotted butter on top of potatoes and sprinkle lightly with Paprika. Can be put together the day before. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour, if cold. This can be frozen ahead of time. If frozen, thaw in refrigerator and cook as above. If you make the same day, (not cold) cook 45 minutes. If you use a deeper baking dish you may have to add a little more baking time.

Serves: 8-10
