Recipe: M&M Chocolate Banana Walnut Drops (cookies using M&M Mini Baking Bits)

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 medium mashed banana (about 1/2 cup)
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 cups quick-cooking oats, uncooked
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1 (12 oz) package M&M's Chocolate Mini Baking Bits (1 3/4 cups)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In large bowl with electric mixer, cream butter, vegetable shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and banana; blending well.
Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; blend into creamed mixture. Blend in oats and nuts. By hand, stir in M&M's Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Drop by tablespoonfuls about 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes just until set. Do not over bake. Cool 1 minute before removing to wire rack; cool completely. Store in tightly covered
container.
