If you have a favorite scratch brownie recipe, you can just bake them at the temp. the recipe says but in the mini-muffin tins (many recipes are available by using the search button here). My grandchildren love making brownies this way but we use a brownie mix and we think they're still excellent. We fill tins to about 3/4 full and bake them 13-15 minutes. You can add some choc. chips and nuts to batter if desired and bake but here are two variations they love - plain batter but you add candy:
1) Spoon a little batter in the bottom of the tin. Add an unwrapped individual Rolo (choc.-covered caramel candy) and then additional batter to 3/4 full. Bake.
2) Kids unwrap miniature Reese's peanut butter cups ahead of time (ditto for Rolo's). However, here we bake the brownies FIRST. Remove from oven and immediately push a Reese's in the middle of each brownie. You need to give it a hard, quick shove into the brownie since it starts to melt immediately. Candy chocolate takes quite a while to reharden. These are very rich but good. For whatever reason, the Rolo version tastes better to me if you bake it with the brownie but the peanut butter cup is easier (especially for the kids).
Tip: If you have a cookie scoop (like a spring-handled ice cream scoop), it makes quick work in filling those mini tins!
