Recipe: Mixed Olive Spread (with garlic and capers)

MIXED OLIVE SPREAD

"Just add some French bread and you've got a dynamite appetizer."

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup finely minced assorted olives*
1 teaspoon capers
2 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
1/2 teaspoon Durkee Crushed Red Pepper

Combine all ingredients in a serving bowl; let sit for 5 minutes to let flavors develop.

*Any type of olive works well: pimento stuffed Manzanilla, Kalamata, and ripe olives are widely available in grocery stores.

SERVING SUGGESTION:
Serve olive spread with thin slices of grilled ciabatta bread. Be sure to brush ciabatta with olive oil before grilling!
