Recipe(tried): Muffuletta Sandwich

Sandwiches
New Orleans Muffuletta from Central Grocer in the French Quarter
Sandwich:
1 lg. loaf Italian bread (circular preferred)
1/3 lb. hard salami, sliced thin
1/3 lb. ham, sliced thin
1/3 lb. provolone, sliced thin
1/3 lb. mozzarella, sliced thin
Olive Salad:
2/3 cup green olives, coarsley chopped
2/3 cup black olives, coarsley chopped
1/4 cup pimiento, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 filet of anchovy, mashed
1 tbs. capers
1/3 cup parsley, chopped
1 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 cup olive oil

Combine all of the salad ingredients and mix well.
Cut the bread in half and put the salad on both halves. Layer the meat and cheese and put the two halves together. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate. Best if refrigerated overnight.
