Recipe: Mulled Wine (1970's)
BeveragesMULLED WINE
For each bottle of red wine:
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 of a lemon, sliced
6 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
Ground nutmeg (for garnish)
Combine all ingredients except the wine in a saucepan. Boil 5 minutes, to make a light syrup.
Add wine; heat over low heat 20 minutes. Serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
