Recipe: No-Bake Bars (using oats and coconut) (1986)

Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
NO-BAKE BARS

2 cups sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats, uncooked
1 cup coconut

Lightly grease 13x9-inch pan.

In large saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, milk and margarine. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; remove from heat.

Add peanut butter and vanilla; mix well. Stir in oats and coconut. Pour into prepared pan.

Cover and refrigerate.

Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.

Makes 36 bars
