Oatmeal Butter Cookies
1 1/4 lb. butter, room temperature
1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
4 1/3 cups flour
2/3 cup oatmeal
2 cups ground nuts
1 1/4 tbsp. vanilla
Cream butter and sugar; add remaining ingredients, alternately with vanilla.
Roll in ball and flatten a little.
Bake at 350 degrees.
Danish Oatmeal Cookies
1/2 lb. butter or margarine
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup chopped nuts
Mix butter or margarine, powdered sugar and vanilla.
Add flour, baking soda and salt.
Add oatmeal and chopped nuts.
Drop by 1/2 teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cool.
Makes 4 dozen. (Can be doubled.)
Mom's Oatmeal Cookies
3/4 cup soft shortening
1/4 cup soft butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup rolled oats (or oatmeal)
Cream together shortening and butter.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla and blend more.
Sift together flour and salt. Add flour mixture and oats to the other ingredients. Spoon onto a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees until very lightly brown. Roll in powdered sugar after they come out of the oven.
Slice and Bake Oatmeal Cookies

1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1 cup quick oatmeal
1 cup butter or oleo
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
Cream butter and sugar until soft and fluffy. Add to all other ingredients, except pecans.
Shape dough into 2 rolls - about 6 inches long, 2 inches thick. Roll in chopped pecans pressing nuts into outside of rolls. Wrap securely in plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
Slice 1/4 inch thick. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Press any nuts that fall off onto top of cookies.
Bake at 375 degrees 8-10 minutes or until done.

While we're waiting for someone with that cookbook to share the recipe you're looking for, here are four recipes that I haven't tried. None stated the original source.
